Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov told RIA Novosti that various options for contact in Shenzhen are being considered, including a meeting between Putin and Trump, as well as trilateral talks involving other parties. However, no final decisions have been made regarding the organization of such meetings.

"We are counting on the opportunity to hold talks in one of these formats," Peskov noted.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that a trilateral meeting involving representatives from the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine could take place soon.

"They will happen pretty soon, and I think both sides want to make a deal," Trump told reporters at the White House when asked about the prospects for trilateral negotiations, according to TASS.
