### Average Car Parts Prices Surge 26% in Russia Amid Lower Maintenance Costs
In Russia, the average price of car parts and consumables increased by 26% in 2025, while the cost of vehicle maintenance services dropped by 17%, according to data from "Kontur" business ecosystem reported by TASS.
"In January-February 2026, the average cost of maintenance services was 1,330 rubles ($16.5), which is 17% lower than in the same period last year. At the same time, the average price of spare parts and components for car repairs in 2026 reached 1,515 rubles ($18.1), which is 26% higher than in 2025," analysts noted.
The rise in parts prices was attributed not only to inflation and logistical challenges but also to increased demand. Russians are repairing and maintaining older vehicles more frequently due to the lack of access to new cars.
The decrease in maintenance service costs was explained by the fact that Western and Japanese cars, which are more expensive to service, are being replaced by Russian and Chinese models, which are cheaper to maintain, amid ongoing sanctions.
