According to the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR), tens of thousands of Russian tourists are currently in the countries of the Persian Gulf. The largest group is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE): about 50,000 people, including independent travelers, package tour tourists, and stranded transit passengers.

Other countries in the region have received far fewer Russian citizens:

  • Qatar - approximately 1,000 tourists;
  • Oman - around 700;
  • Bahrain - about 300.

The exact number of tourists is still being verified.

Tour operators informed ATOR that tourists who were unable to depart from the UAE today are being temporarily accommodated in hotels. According to the online flight schedule at Dubai Airport, some flights are delayed or canceled, but most planes continue to depart on schedule.

The UAE Ministry of Interior confirmed its readiness to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of citizens, residents, and tourists. The ministry emphasized that stability and security remain a priority, and the situation is under constant control with coordination by relevant authorities. The statement was posted on the website of the state news agency WAM.

Authorities urge everyone to rely only on official sources of information, avoiding rumors and unverified data.
