Saudi Arabia Detains Flydubai Pilot After In-Flight Attack on Colleague Saudi authorities have detained a Flydubai pilot following an incident aboard a flight from Dubai to Israel, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as reported by TASS. Netanyahu stated that during the flight, as the aircraft approached Israel, one of the pilots attacked his colleague with a knife. The prime minister also claimed that the attacker allegedly attempted to jeopardize the safety of the aircraft and its passengers. The detained pilot is currently being questioned by Saudi authorities. Israeli officials are in contact with relevant authorities to ensure the safety of passengers and crew members and facilitate their return to Israel, Netanyahu noted. Following the incident, Netanyahu instructed Israeli security services to prepare for potential additional threats. The prime minister mentioned speaking with an Israeli passenger who was on board. According to the passenger, the plane suddenly began to descend sharply and entered a spin. A passenger and a crew member managed to enter the cockpit and assist the injured pilot. Netanyahu praised the actions of the passengers and crew, stating that they helped prevent more severe consequences. The aircraft ultimately landed safely at a Saudi airport, and all on board were out of immediate danger.
