Mourning Day Declared in Yaroslavl Region on Wednesday

Wednesday, September 30th has been declared a day of mourning in Yaroslavl Region for the victims of a fire at a firecracker factory in Kubrinsk village, Pereyaslavsky district. This was announced by the regional governor Mikhail Yevraev via messaging apps.

The tragedy occurred on September 28th at a factory producing firecrackers. According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry (MChS), 14 people were killed and one was injured. A criminal investigation has been launched.

On this day, national flags will be flown at half-mast on government buildings. Governor Yevraev also recommended that entertainment programs and events be canceled.
