Putin to Visit India for BRICS Summit, Bilateral Talks with Modi on September 11-13

Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India from September 11 to 13 to attend the BRICS summit and hold a series of bilateral talks, according to presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

The main focus of the visit will be on summit-related events. On September 11, Putin will address the plenary session of the BRICS business forum, discussing trade and economic cooperation among the member states.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Russian leader will have several bilateral meetings. His schedule includes talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President of South Africa, the Prime Ministers of Malaysia and Ethiopia, as well as the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Additionally, Putin will meet with the head of the New Development Bank (NDB).

Another item on the agenda is a joint visit by Putin and Modi to the "Innoprom" exhibition in New Delhi.

High-level representatives from eight countries will participate in the summit, including Russia, India, Egypt, Indonesia, China, South Africa, and Ethiopia.

The Russian delegation will include Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, and Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Oreshkin.

On September 13, Putin will attend a BRICS+ meeting.

There is no separate official meeting between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping scheduled within the framework of the summit. However, Ushakov did not rule out the possibility of an informal conversation between the two leaders during the event, according to RIA Novosti.
