Russian MFOs increase business loans by 18% to 86 bln rubles

Microfinance organizations in Russia increased their lending to entrepreneurs by 18% in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 86 billion rubles in business loans.

More than half of the funds went to companies operating in the trade sector. One factor contributing to the growth in lending was the increase in the maximum size of microloans for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs — from 5 million rubles to 15 million rubles.

Microfinance organizations (MFOs) also continued to employ support mechanisms for business borrowers. Entrepreneurs were offered loan deferments and the opportunity to restructure their debt.

In January-June 2026, applications for restructuring were approved on average in eight out of ten cases. Entrepreneurs most frequently requested a reduction in their monthly payment amount.
