Starting from September 1, 2026, Russian transport universities will introduce a unified basic course focused on unmanned transport systems, announced Russian Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin during his speech at the Federation Council.
According to the minister, training specialists to work in the rapidly evolving technological landscape is one of the key priorities for the transport sector. The new educational course is designed to equip future engineers and professionals with essential knowledge in autonomous transport and modern digital solutions.
Nikitin emphasized that the Russian University of Transport (RUT) is actively involved in shaping a new model of engineering education in line with the presidential decree. The university is already developing promising educational programs and training directions related to intelligent transport systems, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence.
These programs and approaches are expected to be rolled out across all transport-focused higher education institutions in the country, creating unified standards for training professionals in high-tech transport areas.
