Average Consumer Loan Size in Russia Increases by 21.5% in February

The average consumer loan size in Russia reached 167,200 rubles ($2,180) in February, marking a 21.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to data from the National Credit Bureau (NCBI) cited by TASS.
Month-on-month, the average consumer loan amount grew by 10.7%. The highest average consumer loan sizes were recorded in Moscow (297,800 rubles), St. Petersburg (252,400 rubles), Moscow Region (228,500 rubles), Tatarstan (197,100 rubles), and Tyumen Region (192,400 rubles).
However, there was a significant decrease in the average consumer loan size in Altai (-37%) and Khabarovsk (-32.7%) regions, as well as in Leningrad (-30.5%), Omsk (-29.4%), and Chelyabinsk (-28.8%) regions. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, the average consumer loan size dropped by 22.3% and 21.9% respectively.
