Gold and Silver Prices Hit New Highs on Global Commodity Exchanges
According to data from the Comex exchange, gold and silver prices have once again reached record levels. On trading day January 29th, the February gold futures contract increased by 4.36%, reaching $5,625.89 per ounce of gold. Meanwhile, the March silver futures contract rose by 6%, hitting $120.518 per ounce.
Since December 2025, precious metal prices have been on the rise due to geopolitical tensions linked to US policy decisions. Analysts predict that this year gold could approach the $6,000 per ounce mark. (Note: A "troy ounce" is a unit of measure used in the precious metals industry, equivalent to 31.1034768 grams.)
