Negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement involving delegations from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine, which took place in Abu Dhabi, have concluded. According to sources cited by TASS, no further consultations are planned for January 24. The meeting lasted about three hours and was held in a closed format, without the presence of the press.

It is currently difficult to assess the results of the negotiations, as no official statements have been made. However, a TASS source emphasized that the meeting was not formal and that the negotiations were not fruitless, with certain outcomes being achieved. It is expected that political assessments and possible decisions will be announced by "authorized officials in the capitals."

According to media reports, the parties discussed parameters for a possible cessation of hostilities, the future architecture of the negotiation process, territorial issues, the idea of creating buffer zones, and mechanisms for monitoring compliance with agreements. The Ukrainian side, in particular, insisted on exploring the topic of a so-called "energy truce."

Western journalists have generally been cautious in assessing the prospects of the meeting. Sky News notes that it is "completely unclear what practical results this round of negotiations might lead to." Reuters points to the lack of significant compromises between the parties. However, the Axios portal, citing sources, reports that the negotiations took place in a "positive and constructive atmosphere."

As clarified by TASS, the negotiating teams in Abu Dhabi simultaneously studied and discussed several draft documents related to a possible peaceful settlement. In Kyiv, it was confirmed that the parties agreed to hold another round of consultations in the UAE capital next week.

Barak Ravid, a correspondent for Axios, also reported on the continuation of the dialogue. According to his sources, negotiations on the Russian-Ukrainian settlement in Abu Dhabi will resume in the coming days.
