### Used Car Sales in Russia Hit Record High in 2025
In 2025, Russia saw the sale of up to 6.24 million used passenger cars, marking a 3.3% year-on-year increase, according to Autostat.
Experts noted that this figure represents an all-time high since record-keeping began. The previous record was set in 2014, when 6.1 million used cars were sold.
Leading the used car market was Lada (24.59% market share, up 2.3% to 1.53 million units). Japanese brand Toyota came in second (10.26% market share, up 0.9% to 624,820 units). South Korean Kia took third place (5.75% market share, up 2.7% to 358,840 units). The top five also included Hyundai (up 3.4% to 343,110 units) and Nissan (down 3.4% to 272,920 units).
The surge in used car sales was attributed to rising prices for new vehicles and a significant influx of cars imported by individuals from brands that have left the Russian market.
Dealers predict that the used car market could grow by another 3-7% in 2026, depending on interest rates and currency exchange rates.
