The West has allowed "utterly shameful situations" at multilateral events when they tried to establish the "isolation" of Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in an interview as part of the "Tree of Wishes" campaign, reported by TASS.

According to Lavrov, Russia actively develops diplomacy with countries of the so-called global majority - Asia, Africa, and Latin America, while the "isolation" that the West talks about is actually self-isolation of the Western world itself.

"There were utterly shameful situations when, at international events, for example within the framework of the Group of Twenty, they agreed not to shake hands with Russian representatives. When they saw us in some corridors near the meeting hall, they pretended to look in the other direction and ran away - grown-up people," the minister recounted.
