Around 50,000 Russian tourists are currently in the Middle East, according to an estimate provided by Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, during a briefing.

She noted that these figures are approximate. Additionally, between 6,000 and 8,000 Russian citizens are currently unable to leave countries in Asia and Africa due to suspended transit air travel.

Zakharova emphasized that precise data is only available for Russians who have registered with consular services. Tourists who travel abroad for short periods typically do not register with diplomatic missions, making it difficult to provide an exact count of their numbers.
