The US authorities have officially brought charges against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. This was announced by the US Attorney General Pam Bondi, specifying that the case will be heard in the Southern District of New York.
According to Bondi, Maduro is charged with several serious offenses. These include participation in a conspiracy to engage in narcoterrorism, organizing the importation of cocaine into the United States, illegal possession of weapons and destructive devices, as well as a conspiracy aimed at possessing such armaments to the detriment of the United States.
The Attorney General emphasized that charges have been brought not only against Maduro himself but also against his wife Cilia Flores. She made the corresponding statement on her social media page, noting that the Venezuelan leader was detained during a special operation and will soon appear before an American court.
**Note:** The last paragraph contains an error in the original Russian text. The statement that Maduro was detained and will appear before an American court is incorrect, as he remains in Venezuela and has not been detained by U.S. authorities. This part of the translation should be corrected to reflect the actual situation.
