The Justice of the Peace of the Tagansky District of Moscow issued a ruling on two administrative protocols. According to it, TikTok Pte. Ltd. was fined 4 million rubles for each episode, totaling 8 million rubles. The basis for the punishment was a violation of Article 19.7.10-4 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses ("Failure by the owner of a social network to comply with the instructions of a federal executive authority").

The TikTok platform has repeatedly been held administratively liable by Russian courts for various violations.

In March 2022, the company announced a temporary ban on uploading new videos and live streaming for users in Russia. This decision was linked to the entry into force of legislation on so-called "fake news."

TikTok Pte. Ltd. has not yet commented on the decision of the Justice of the Peace.
