The Russian government is expanding the program for creating world-class university campuses. On December 15, the Ministry of Education and Science will launch the final selection of at least 15 new projects, with the results to be concluded in 2026. This is part of a large-scale plan to build 40 such clusters by 2036, implemented within the national project "Youth and Children."
One of the actively developing projects is the student cluster "Arctic Star" in the Arkhangelsk region. Construction of the cluster will be funded with 2 billion rubles until the end of 2025, with completion scheduled for 2028.
The campus will train specialists for the main sectors of the Russian Arctic: shipbuilding and ship repair, logistics and development of the Northern Sea Route, exploration and processing of regional natural resources.
The infrastructure of the cluster will include not only classrooms and research laboratories, but also a technology park, sports and creative spaces. Up to 300 students can simultaneously work at the campus.
