State Duma Adopts a Series of Laws on Additional Support Measures for "Hero Mothers"

Laws on social guarantees for women who have been awarded the title of "Mother Heroine" have been adopted by the State Duma.

It has been reported that 35 women have given birth to more than 10 children and have earned the honorary title this year. Now all of them will receive social guarantees and support measures on par with Heroes of Russia and Heroes of Labor, specifically in the provision of medical care and medication, payment for housing and utilities, and provision of land plots.

Support measures also include discounts on public transport fares, visits to cultural and sports organizations. They also apply to professional training, additional professional education, and provision of vacations.

Notably, some benefits can be replaced with a monthly monetary payment of 72,403.79 rubles.

The second law provides for additional material support. It will amount to 415% of the social pension for mothers-heroines and removes restrictions related to the inclusion in the insurance record of periods of childcare for children under one and a half years old. Additionally, if children are born as a result of multiple pregnancy, 1.5 years of childcare for each child will also be included in the insurance record.
