The law on the creation of a unified information system for monitoring the condition of cultural heritage sites has been adopted by the State Duma and signed by the President of Russia.
As previously reported, the bill was developed by a group of Russian senators. It envisages the creation of a unified specialized OKN platform that will systematically monitor the condition of monuments across the country. This is done to attract potential investors.
The platform will provide information on the category of the object, its location, cadastral data, condition, protection obligation, and work carried out to preserve it.
The law will come into force on June 1, 2026.
