State Duma Announces December 31 as a Day Off

Starting from December 31, 2025, the majority of Russians will go on a 12-day vacation, confirmed by the State Duma.

Russian residents are looking forward to record-breaking New Year holidays in terms of duration. As reported by RIA Novosti, Deputy Svetlana Bessarab stated that the vacation will last for 12 days, from December 31, 2025, to January 11, 2026, inclusive. This is the maximum number of holiday days off over the past 12 years.

Earlier, the parliamentarian had already announced that the upcoming New Year holidays of 2025-2026 would be the longest in the 12-year period. The current statement finally confirms this information and gives citizens the opportunity to plan their vacation in advance.

Before the New Year holidays, there will be a short working week. Most Russians will work only two days before the New Year.
