In Russia, next year, they plan to start testing unmanned ground vehicle technologies in airports, according to TASS citing Vladimir Voloshin, Director of the Department of Digital Development and Data Economy at the Ministry of Economic Development. The testing will involve baggage transport tractors equipped with Russian-made technologies. The introduction of such equipment is expected to reduce the time required for loading and unloading passenger luggage, as well as increase the overall productivity of airport ground services. Airports in Moscow, Sochi, and St. Petersburg are being considered for the experiment. According to Voloshin, the Ministry of Economic Development is currently working with the Ministry of Transport to prepare a new experimental legal framework. The experimental program and the corresponding draft decree will be submitted for government consideration in 2026.
