Russian developers are working on the localization of airbags for cars, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak announced at the "Transport of Russia" forum. "If we talk about automotive transport, at the moment, we have not yet mastered airbags, which are widely used today. We are currently working on this. As for all other systems, including ABS, ESI, and all other car systems, today, domestic manufacturers successfully and with good quality reproduce all these systems," TASS quotes Shpak as saying. He also emphasized that other unresolved tasks in terms of localization include the production of equipment to increase the level of autonomy and unmanned operation - radars and lidars. However, according to Shpak, progress has already been made in this direction. The share of electronics in transport is increasing and ranges from 30% to 50%, depending on the type of transport. He noted that currently, the most localized type of transport in Russia is rail transport.
