Russia to Introduce a Rating System for Driving Schools

In Russia, there is a plan to create a rating system for driving schools. The State Duma has adopted in the third reading amendments to the Federal Law "On Road Traffic Safety", according to which the Government will determine the list of performance indicators for the implementation of professional driver training programs by driving schools.

"The bill proposes to provide for the development of a list of indicators, criteria, and frequency of assessing the effectiveness of the implementation of professional driver training programs by organizations engaged in educational activities, granting the relevant powers to authorized federal executive bodies," it is clarified in the explanatory note.

Information about driving schools will be made publicly available, meaning citizens will be able to choose a driving school based on specific criteria. It is expected that the law will improve the quality of driver training and reduce road accidents.
