The difference in the cost of a fixed basket of essential food products, goods, and services (a basket of 83 items) across Russian regions has increased by 12% over the year, reaching 19 thousand rubles, according to data from Rosstat, as reported by "Izvestia".

In October, the average cost of such a basket in Russia exceeded 25 thousand rubles, which is 10% higher than the previous year.

The most expensive basket was for residents of Chukotka (+11%, to 41 thousand rubles), Moscow (+15%, to 38 thousand rubles), and Murmansk region (+14%, to 30 thousand rubles).

The cheapest basket is for residents of Saratov, Astrakhan, and Oryol regions (+8-9%, to 22 thousand rubles).

This sharp difference in cost is explained by uneven inflation and wage growth in Russian regions, logistics costs, and varying levels of competition in regional markets.
