Russian President Signed a Decree on Mentorship for Medical Graduates

President Putin signed a law on mentorship for medical students today. As previously reported, the document stipulates that budget-funded medical professionals will be required to sign a contract for targeted training in residency programs, followed by final certification. The organization with which the student signs the contract will act as a mentor. The contract will be valid for graduates for no more than three years.

Recall, last week, on November 12, the bill was approved by the Federation Council. The new law will come into effect on March 1, 2026.
