Currently, the labor shortage in Russian industry amounts to 2 million specialists. There is a lack of both managers, engineers, and workers. These figures were announced by Anatoly Nikitin, a member of the Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, as reported by "Gazeta.Ru".

At the same time, he cited data from Rosstat, according to which, during the first half of the current year, 141 thousand organizations, including manufacturing ones, were closed in Russia, and a decline is observed in some industrial sectors. Some companies have switched to a four-day workweek or reduced working hours. The reasons for this include a high key interest rate, low business profitability, and inefficient financial management. Further reduction of production capacities, bankruptcy of companies due to insufficient working capital and inability to pay expensive loans will lead to the release of several tens of thousands of specialists.
