After a long period of growth, pork prices in Russia have started to decline. Producers have already reduced wholesale prices by 1-3% over the past week. This comes despite the fact that in July the product was getting more expensive by 12-30% at wholesale level, according to Kommersant.
To be more precise, the price of a pork half-carcass fell by 1% compared to the previous week, reaching 216 rubles per kg. There is also a noticeable drop in prices for other cuts. For example, the ham became cheaper by 2%, to 308 rubles per kg, the belly — by 2%, to 242 rubles, the shoulder — by 2%, to 303 rubles, the loin — by 3%, to 310 rubles, and the neck — by 1%, to 385 rubles.
At the same time, the cost of pork is still 15-20% higher than it was a year ago.
