The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has taken the initiative to introduce a cooling-off period for the purchase of non-refundable tickets for planes and trains. The corresponding proposal has been sent to Russian Railways and the Association of Air Transport Operators, Kommersant reports.

The agency notes that passengers should be able to correct mistakes made during the registration of non-refundable tickets, for example, in choosing a date or destination, for a certain period of time. The increase in the number of such errors is associated with an increase in the number of people who buy tickets on their own, bypassing intermediaries.

In order to be able to correct such errors, the practice of a "cooling-off period" should be introduced." used in insurance and lending. In this regard, the Ministry of Transport proposes to work out amendments to the Air Code and the Charter of Railway Transport.
