Yuri Serga, the former head of the Western Military District Construction Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense, has been charged with bribery. This is reported by the main military investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Grigory Popov, CEO of the Kipalarm Trading House, was also charged. He is accused of paying a particularly large bribe while fulfilling a state defense order.

According to the investigation, in 2022-2023, during the fulfillment of the state defense order, Kipalarm and VSK signed multimillion-dollar contracts for the overhaul of facilities in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Serga received more than 7.5 million rubles as a bribe from Popov for his assistance in concluding subcontracting contracts, as well as general patronage during their implementation.

For Sergi, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
