Putin, Trump Discuss Ukraine in Phone Call: Peskov

A significant portion of the telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump was dedicated to exploring ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The discussion on this topic was initiated by the American leader, according to Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov stated that the Russian president "constructively engaged" with several proposals from Washington aimed at reducing tensions.

"During the conversation, the Russian president constructively received some proposals from the U.S. side regarding steps aimed at de-escalation," the Kremlin representative said.
