### Former Russian MP Arrested in Armavir over Alleged Massive Fraud Former Russian State Duma member and United Russia party representative Andrey Doshchenko has been detained in Armavir on suspicion of fraud on an especially large scale, according to a source cited by [RBC](https://www.rbc.ru/politics/05/10/2026/6ac37e5b9a7947de32a96742?from=short_news?utm_source=max&utm_medium=messenger&utm_campaign=rbc_news). The investigation alleges that in 2017, Doshchenko, along with officials from the Ministry of Transport of Krasnodar Region, was involved in embezzling public funds allocated through state contracts for regional road repairs. The suspects are accused of inflating the initial cost of state contracts and limiting competition during procurement processes, which allowed them to secure contracts through affiliated companies. Subsequently, they allegedly accepted substandard work and diverted funds. Through these actions, Doshchenko and his accomplices are believed to have stolen over 2 billion rubles from the regional budget. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the activities of the Krasnodar Regional Association "Union of Road Builders of Kuban," which Doshchenko headed from 2018 to 2021, as well as the fund "My Kuban." In addition to Andrey Doshchenko, his children, Milana and Eldar Doshchenko, are also defendants in the case. They were previously placed in custody by the Central District Court of Sochi. Doshchenko himself was only recently detained after losing his parliamentary immunity on September 29, as he was not re-elected to the new State Duma.
