### Russia to Delay Appointing New Ambassadors to France and UK Moscow will delay the appointment of new Russian ambassadors to France and the UK, according to a statement by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He emphasized that there is no rush in the process. “There is no need to hurry, given the current state of bilateral relations,” Peskov was quoted as saying by Interfax. He further noted that the decrees for relieving an ambassador of their duties and appointing a new one are not necessarily signed simultaneously, and there may be certain pauses between them. - On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree relieving Ambassador to France Alexei Meshkov of his duties. Meshkov had represented Russia in Paris since 2017. On Wednesday, Putin relieved Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin of his duties, a position he had held since 2019.
