Cyber Fraud Damage in Russia Declines 21% Year-on-Year

Over the first seven months, the amount of damage caused by cyber fraudsters decreased by 21% year-on-year, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko, as reported by TASS.

Grigorenko highlighted the adoption of the second package of measures to combat online crime and ongoing government efforts to prepare a third package. Additionally, a government task force is continuously working to combat fraudsters, and the number of scenarios available in the State Information System "Anti-Fraud" (GIS "Anti-Fraud") is being expanded.

"All these measures are yielding results. Over the first seven months of 2026, the amount of damage from online fraud decreased by 21% compared to the same period last year," Grigorenko said on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
