Putin Proposes Unified Preferential Regime for Far East and Arctic

Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed establishing a unified preferential regime for the Far East and Arctic Zone.

During a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Far Eastern regions, the head of state noted positive dynamics in the macro region. According to Putin, the Far East is growing at a faster pace than the national average across several key indicators.

Putin stated that unified conditions for providing benefits and preferences should facilitate the faster adoption of modern technologies and the implementation of new investment projects. He also emphasized the importance of taking into account the views of local residents when setting priorities for further regional development.

One of the main competitive advantages of the Far East, according to Putin, is its geographical proximity to major global centers of economic growth.
