Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak chaired a meeting focused on the situation with fuel supply to the domestic market. Special attention was given to regions currently facing the most challenging circumstances.
During the meeting, the balance between demand and supply in the fuel markets of Tula, Tambov, Irkutsk, and Penza regions, as well as the Republic of Mordovia, was separately examined.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) presented the results of its monitoring of exchange, wholesale, and retail prices for petroleum products. The agency also reported on cases of unjustified increases in fuel prices. Legal proceedings have been initiated in these cases, and appropriate measures are being taken against violators.
Additionally, FAS continues to prepare standard agreements between regions and independent gas station networks. It is expected that such agreements will help ensure an economically justified level of retail prices at private gas stations.
Separately, the meeting noted the situation regarding fuel supply to agricultural producers. According to participants, farmers have sufficient fuel supplies, and the harvesting campaign is proceeding as planned. The northern fuel delivery is being carried out according to the approved schedule.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Novak instructed relevant government agencies and oil companies to strengthen control over fuel supply to regions. Any imbalances that arise must be addressed as quickly as possible.
He also demanded that there be no sharp changes in fuel prices at any stage of their distribution. Special attention was instructed to be paid to the cost of fuel for farmers and retail prices at gas stations.
