Irkutsk Region Introduces Heightened Alert Due to Fuel Market Situation

Irkutsk Region has declared a heightened state of readiness in response to the current situation in the regional fuel market, Governor Igor Kobzev announced.

As part of the measures taken, fuel retailers under the "Rosneft" network have imposed a limit of 50 liters per vehicle per day for individual customers. Other gas stations are also allowed to set stricter restrictions. Additionally, the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel into containers such as jerry cans is temporarily prohibited; refueling is only allowed directly into vehicle fuel tanks.

Regional authorities have also recommended organizations not involved in essential public services to transition their employees to remote work to the maximum extent possible. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) and the National Guard (Rosgvardia) have been tasked with maintaining public order at gas stations where large numbers of vehicles are gathering.

Special attention has been given to combating illegal resale of fuel. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to prevent such violations, organize patrols in areas around gas stations, and hold offenders accountable. Information about violations will be regularly communicated to the public.
