Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov announced that the certification testing program for the fully domestically produced SJ-100 aircraft is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

In an interview with journalist Alexandra Suvorova from the "Vesti" news service, he stated that the industry aims to complete all necessary test flights and obtain the type certificate for the aircraft on schedule.

Manturov added that the next step will be the certification of the medium-haul MC-21 airliner, with all required procedures for this project expected to be completed by 2027.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that work on new Russian aircraft is one of the largest projects in the domestic aviation industry. He noted that around 700,000 specialists from the aviation sector are involved in the implementation of import substitution and technological independence programs.

Manturov highlighted that air carriers and transport companies are eagerly awaiting the delivery of new aircraft, with relevant government agencies providing maximum support to developers and manufacturers. This includes collaboration with Rosaviatsiya (the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency) and the Ministry of Transport.

He assessed that simultaneous import substitution of all major types of civil aircraft and helicopters is an unprecedented task for modern Russia.

Manturov recalled that previously, the Russian aviation industry was integrated into international production chains and extensively cooperated with foreign suppliers. However, current conditions have necessitated an accelerated transition to domestic technologies and components.

According to Manturov, the industry is successfully addressing these challenges and has already shown significant results. He expressed confidence that through joint efforts of the state, manufacturers, and transport companies, Russia will fully implement its program of technological independence in civil aviation.
