On the night of June 4, the Crimean Peninsula was subjected to a massive drone attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The consequences were recorded in two major Crimean cities – Simferopol and Sevastopol, according to Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov.
In Simferopol, the attack resulted in casualties. Although the drones targeted non-residential facilities, three people were tragically killed and seven others were injured with varying degrees of severity.
In Sevastopol, military forces are currently engaged in countering the aerial assault. Anti-aircraft defenses, working in conjunction with mobile fire groups, have already destroyed more than two dozen enemy drones, according to Governor Razvozhaev.
However, debris from the destroyed drones did cause damage. On the Northern side, fragments of one eliminated drone fell onto the territory of a gardening cooperative. In the village of Fruktovoe, shrapnel damaged the facade of a private residence.
Crimean authorities have issued a statement promising to provide all necessary assistance to affected residents and compensate for the damage caused. The situation remains under the control of emergency services.
