The Russian ruble is trading slightly weaker, losing about 0.1% against major currency pairs on the interbank market.
On the interbank market, the ruble is trading at 11.07 rubles per Chinese yuan (CNY/RUB) on Thursday.
The USD/RUB pair is trading at 77.10 rubles per U.S. dollar.
It is worth noting that the Bank of Russia will set official exchange rates for foreign currencies against the ruble based on consolidated data from both exchange and over-the-counter segments of the foreign exchange market starting December 27, 2024. This move, aimed at enhancing the representativeness of official rates, is stipulated in Bank of Russia Regulation No. 6956-U.
Starting June 8, 2026, the Bank of Russia has changed the methodology for calculating the official euro-to-ruble exchange rate. Instead of direct euro-ruble quotes, the calculation will now be based on a cross-rate using data from the European Central Bank (ECB), following the formula: EUR/RUB = USD/RUB × EUR/USD (ECB data).
