### Russian Students to Face Oral History Exam in 9th Grade Starting 2028 Starting from 2028, ninth-grade students in Russia will be required to take an oral history exam, announced Anzor Muzayev, head of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor). > "We will have a third mandatory exam... This is an important subject," Muzayev said during a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, as reported by RIA Novosti. The Ministry of Education clarified that the exam will serve as a prerequisite for the Basic State Exam (OGE), which students must pass to graduate from secondary school. The exam questions will be based on materials covered in history textbooks. The ministry emphasized that the test will help students develop skills in arguing or refuting certain opinions, as well as forming their own views on historical events and figures. The introduction of the exam will be discussed with teachers, experts, and students.
