### Russian Forces Observed Ceasefire During Victory Day Celebrations, Ministry of Defense Reports According to a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian troops in the special military operation (SVO) zone adhered to a ceasefire regime established by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief during the celebration of the 81st anniversary of Victory Day. All Russian military units remained in their previously occupied positions and did not engage in offensive actions from midnight on May 8 to the end of May 11. However, Ukrainian armed formations continued to attack Russian positions. The military department reported that during the ceasefire period, there were 30,383 violations of the truce by the Ukrainian forces. On May 11, Ukrainian militants made five attack attempts. Additionally, the Russian side recorded 859 artillery shellings using multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, and mortars, as well as 5,825 drone strikes. Russian units responded symmetrically to the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces. Return fire was directed at artillery positions, multiple launch rocket systems, command posts, and drone launch sites.
