Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin chaired a meeting of the government commission on regional development, where the results of the construction sector for the first quarter of 2026 were reviewed and future tasks were outlined.
According to the presented data, 6.9 million square meters of non-residential real estate were commissioned in Russia during the reporting period, remaining at the level of the previous year. The volume of residential construction reached 23 million square meters.
Khusnullin emphasized that the industry continues to operate under heightened challenges but demanded strict adherence to deadlines and commitments from the regions. He stressed that the implementation of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" and state programs remains an absolute priority. In this context, particular attention is paid to the effective use of budgetary funds.
Separate instructions were given to regional authorities, who are tasked with developing comprehensive plans for the development of territories along existing and prospective highways. This approach is expected to increase investment attractiveness and stimulate comprehensive land development.
Monitoring results also highlighted regions demonstrating the highest achievements in key indicators. The leaders included Amur, Nizhny Novgorod, and Chelyabinsk Oblasts, as well as the Republics of Bashkortostan, Buryatia, Sakha (Yakutia), and Chechnya.
