Acting Governor of Bryansk Region Yegor Kovalchuk signed a decree dismissing the regional government.

The document was published on the official website of the regional authorities. It states that the regional cabinet of ministers ceases its functions due to changes in the leadership of the region.

However, the current government will continue to perform its duties until the new governor, who will be elected through established procedures, takes office.

The personnel changes followed a decision by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who on May 13 accepted the resignations of Bryansk Region Governor Alexander Bogomaz and Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

Subsequently, Kovalchuk was appointed acting governor of Bryansk Region, while Alexander Shuvev took over as acting governor of Belgorod Region.
