Eleven more regions in Russia have been granted the opportunity to write off two-thirds of their budget loan debt, according to a decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The debt write-off will apply to the regions of Bryansk, Ryazan, Kirov, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk Oblasts, Zabaykalsky Krai, and the Republics of Altai, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Mari El, and Tyva. The total amount to be written off is 10.1 billion rubles (approximately $130 million). These regions have actively invested in modernizing utilities (ЖКХ), relocation from dilapidated housing, implementation of national projects, and capitalization of industrial development funds.
"This debt write-off will allow them to create an additional impetus for further improving business conditions and raising the living standards of citizens," the government press service quoted Mishustin as saying.
