### Massive Attack Hits Chuvashia Region, Civilian Infrastructure Damaged On May 5, the Chuvash Republic (a region in central Russia) was hit by a massive attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (Ukrainian: ZSU). The assault affected both civilians and civilian infrastructure. According to regional leader Oleg Nikolaev, two civilians were killed in the incident. Another 32 people were injured, including one child. Most of the victims have already received medical assistance; some have been discharged, while others continue to receive treatment in hospitals. Medical services in the region are operating in an enhanced mode. The main damage was inflicted on residential areas. Damage was recorded in 28 multi-family apartment buildings, home to approximately 8,500 people. Two buildings have structural damage, making them uninhabitable. Residents have been offered temporary accommodation in dormitories, and three temporary shelters have been set up, providing basic necessities such as food, medicine, and support from specialists, including psychologists. The regional authorities have declared a state of emergency. According to Nikolaev, this measure will help speed up the mobilization of resources and coordination of services to assist those affected. Concurrently, an assessment of the damage has begun to determine compensation payments. All families who have lost loved ones or homes are being supported by the authorities. Social and emergency services have been placed on special duty.
