Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a list of directives formulated following a meeting with government members on February 18, 2026. The document outlines a range of measures aimed at improving access to healthcare services, particularly in small towns and rural areas.
According to the directives, the federal government, in collaboration with regional authorities, is tasked with ensuring convenient transportation to healthcare facilities. Special focus will be given to settlements where residents face difficulties in their daily commutes to hospitals and clinics.
Among the key priorities are the construction and renovation of regional and municipal roads leading to medical institutions. Simultaneously, regions have been instructed to develop and optimize public transport routes, ensuring citizens can reliably reach healthcare facilities on a regular basis.
Implementation of these measures proposed by the president is expected to reduce the transportation isolation of certain territories and enhance access to medical care for residents of remote areas.
