The head of the Ministry of Energy, Sergey Tsivilev, announced the completion of preparations for the electric power industry and the housing and communal services sector for the winter period of 2025-2026. This work was carried out amid increasing load on equipment and increased energy consumption, with a predicted increase of 4% in the upcoming winter compared to the previous season.
For each region of Russia, together with energy companies, comprehensive risk maps were developed and updated.
97% of the subjects of the electric power industry successfully passed inspections and received readiness certificates for operation in winter conditions. All objects are fully supplied with fuel reserves, scheduled deliveries under the northern delivery program have been completed, and underground gas storage facilities are filled to the required levels.
Special attention was paid to improving the reliability of energy supply in border and new regions of Russia. Daily monitoring of the restoration of damaged infrastructure is organized there. At the same time, programs to enhance the reliability of operation of thermal power plants in the south and the Far East are continuing.
