The world court in the Tagansky district of Moscow has found the American corporation Twitch Interactive (owner of the video platform Twitch) guilty of committing two administrative offenses. The charges pertain to the failure to fulfill previously imposed administrative penalties (under section 1, article 20.25 of the Russian Administrative Code). The court imposed a fine of 2 million rubles for each of the two episodes, totaling a fine of 4 million rubles against the video service. On December 4, it was also reported that more severe measures were taken. On the same day, the Russian Federal Communications Agency (Rоскомнадзор) restricted the operation of the Snapchat messenger and the FaceTime online calling service from Apple in Russia. These restrictions were imposed due to repeated violations of Russian laws and the use of online platforms for the organization of terrorist activities, recruitment, and fraud.
