In October, the cost of apartments in the primary market in major Russian cities increased by 5% year-on-year. On average, a square meter in a new building costs 183 thousand rubles, according to "Kommersant". Over the month, the price per square meter decreased by 1.2%. In October, prices increased by only 0.7% year-on-year, reaching 196 thousand rubles per square meter. Market participants attribute the slower growth in prices to stabilization of construction material costs and an oversupply in the primary market. According to "Dom.RF", in October, 68% of under-construction housing remained unsold nationwide. According to Rosstat data for the same period, the volume of housing construction in the country decreased by 4.6% year-on-year, to 83.6 million square meters.
