Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation: Blowing up bridges in Bryansk and Kursk regions qualified as a terrorist act

Criminal cases of bridge bombings in the Bryansk and Kursk regions are being investigated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on a terrorist attack, said Svetlana Petrenko, an official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, criminal cases were opened in the Investigative Committee of Russia over the collapse of automobile and railway bridges in the Bryansk and Kursk regions. The cases were transferred to the Main Investigative Department on behalf of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin.

« On May 31, 2025 at 22:50 on the Vygonichi railway section of Pilshino in the Bryansk region, as a result of an explosion, the structure of the automobile bridge collapsed, the fragments of which fell on a passenger train passing under it. As a result of the incident, people were injured and killed, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reports.
